Fire Department
The Pilot Rock Rural Fire Protection District 7-401 provides fire suppression, emergency medical services, fire prevention, and rescue to the City of Pilot Rock and surrounding area of over 3000 citizens. The District provides emergency m
edical services to approx. 600 square miles and fire protection to 348 square miles in two counties. The District is governed by a 5 member-elected board of directors. The District staffing consists of a Fire Chief, Deputy Chief, Two Division Chiefs, Two Captains, One Lieutenant, and 15 Firefighters.
The remodeling and expansion of the fire station is almost complete with the training room and kitchen area remaining. The Fire District also purchased a used ambulance from Pendleton Fire to replce the 15 year old ambulance that was being used. The year 2010 looks to be an exciting year with several new faces on the department and a relatively new station to call home.
